Facts About Excess Abdominal Fat And What To Do About It

by AbsTrainer

Various studies indicate that a huge percentage of the current population have excess fat in the abdominal midsection. People belonging to this category feels that having this extra ab fat makes them look flabby and out of shape, which in turn, makes them self-conscious when among fit-bodied people.

What most people fail to realize is that excess abdominal fat not just affects self-esteem but also poses a hazard to their health. To have excess body fat in general is considered unhealthy, according to scientific studies, and more so with excess abdominal fat in particular.

There are commonly two types of fat that can be found in the abdominal area. One is the subcutaneous fat, which lies right beneath the skin and directly on top of the abdominal muscles. This is the fat that hides your ab muscles from being noticed.

The other type of fat in the midsection is located deeper in the abdomen and lies beneath the abdominal muscles and is called the visceral fat. It is sometimes wrapped around the organs in the stomach area. Visceral fat is responsible for the “beer belly” look in most men, which causes their abdomen to bulge out but is hard to the touch.

It is a fact that both the subcutaneous fat and the visceral fat are already considered serious health risks. When found in excess in the abdominal area, both types can seriously increase the risks of developing degenerative illnesses such as high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes, different forms of cancer, stroke, and more. Medical research has also proven that too much of the visceral fat is particularly more hazardous than the same amount of subcutaneous fat. This is because visceral fat can consistently release molecules that cause inflammation inside the body.

Reducing, if not eliminating, your abdominal fat can do wonders for your body. Aside from the health aspects of this process, you can finally remove the stubborn ab fat that makes you look out of shape. As your belly becomes flatter while losing abdominal fat, your ab muscles will surface and become more noticeable. Getting the six-pack abs that everybody dreams about won’t be that far ahead.

“How can abdominal fat be eliminated”? This is a very common question asked by those who intend to trim down their midsections. With all the widely-commercialized fat loss products being marketed, people are confused and wonder if there is indeed a real answer to the question.

People need to understand that there is no single instant solution for eliminating extra abdominal fat. Infomercials on fat loss food supplements are widespread. Ads about sophisticated ab machines which promise to do wonders with instant results are rampant. All these products are perpetuated by companies to fool people that there are short-cuts to losing abdominal fat. Unfortunately, most of these products often turn out to be ineffective and even worthless.

There is, in fact, a real solution to get rid of abdominal fat for good and keeping it that way. A combination of a solid healthy diet consisting mainly of high-fiber and unprocessed natural food and a strategically-designed lower ab workout program will greatly increase your chances of achieving your goal.

It is equally important to keep in mind that by taking on just about any lower ab workout program will produce the desired results as this cannot guarantee an effective exercise that will stimulate the burning of persistent abdominal fat. Also, many people tend to start off well doing some fat-reduction training, cardio exercises, and lower ab workouts, and assume it is sufficient. In time, however, they would begin to wonder why their expected results are nowhere visible and this would lead to frustration. Moreover, most of them show enthusiasm at first but eventually get bored and lose the motivation to continue in their quest for flat and well-toned abs.
